Beyonce Can't Pick Her Favorite Jay-Z Song

'I can't tell you which one is my favorite. It's just too many,' singer tells MTV News.

Jay-Z is letting fans into his world with two major releases this month. He just published his book, "Decoded," in which he takes a closer look at his career, and on Monday (November 22), Hova is releasing a greatest-hits album, The Hits Collection, Volume 1.

The album features Jay's most memorable tunes, including "Big Pimpin'," "Hard Knock Life," "99 Problems" and his collabo with his superstar wife, Beyoncé, "03' Bonnie & Clyde."

But when MTV News caught up with Bey Sunday at a New York screening for her DVD concert special, "I Am ... World Tour," she admitted that "Bonnie & Clyde" isn't her favorite Jay-Z track.

"God, that's not my favorite, even though I like it," she laughed. "I can't tell you which one is my favorite. It's just too many. You're putting me on the spot!"

While the pair may be releasing fresh products at the same time, the singer insists there is no competition in the Carter-Knowles household.

"No absolutely not, [there is no competition]," she told reporters at the DVD event, going on to praise "Decoded." "That book is unbelievable, and I think we're all really proud of it. And this DVD [out this] Thanksgiving — it's the holiday season of everyone's [material] coming out."

The DVD shows a new, more intimate side of the usually private Beyoncé, and Jay-Z admits that his book also sheds new light on his persona and career. "A lot of people listen to music, but they don't really listen to it," he explained. "You may know the words and you may bop your head to it, but you don't really understand what you're singing."

Open the floodgates! It's Mega-Release Week, with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and Lloyd Banks all dropping new albums. Stick with MTV News for everything you need to know about the brand-new music.

'Green Hornet' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

Superhero film took a winding path to the big screen, and we've been there the whole way.
By Eric Ditzian

Seth Rogen in "Green Hornet"
Photo: Sony Pictures

When did the story of the Seth Rogen-starring, Michel Gondry-directed "Green Hornet" begin? Does it go all the way back to the superhero's adventures on 1930s-era radio, or does it begin with the 1966 TV series that made Bruce Lee a star?

Perhaps instead we should begin in the early '90s with Hollywood's attempt to revive the dormant franchise. There are enough twists and turns there to form the basis of an entire master class in major-studio development hell. The title role, in its various incarnations, was reportedly at one time or another offered to everyone from George Clooney to Greg Kinnear. Directors (including Gondry in the late '90s) and screenwriters came and went. Studios traded rights to the property.

Then, in stepped Rogen and writing partner Evan Goldberg with an outline for the movie in fall 2007. More than three bump-and-bruise-filled years later, "The Green Hornet" finally hit theaters Friday (January 14). How did it get there? What do you need to know before checking out the action/comedy about a rich kid named Britt Reid who turns himself into a superhero with the help of sidekick/genius Kato? All your questions will be answered with MTV News' "Green Hornet" cheat sheet.

The Green Hornet Meets Red-Faced Fans
Initial fan reaction to the pairing of Rogen with the superhero material was not kind, and the vitriol seemed never to let up. "People just love bitching," he laughed during a July '08 interview with MTV News. "Hopefully, people will see it and say, 'Oh, yeah, they can kind of do that, maybe we'll give them an easier time.' "

Seeking to attract some action-flick cred, Rogen recruited Stephen Chow ("Kung Fu Hustle") both to direct and to star as Kato. Seeking as well to establish himself as a believable superhero, Rogen hit the gym and began to shed a lot of weight.

Then, just like that, Chow was gone as director. And Rogen was screwed. But he and Sony Pictures regrouped, signed Gondry and pushed forward with the project.

You're Perfect, Now Change
Nothing, it seemed, would come easy for "Green Hornet." In summer '09, the film's release date was pushed back from June 25 to July 9, 2010. Then Chow skipped out on playing Kato. And then Nicolas Cage, who was set to play the film's main villain, ditched the production too. The release was once again pushed back, this time to winter 2010. "Every possible obstacle came in our way at one point or another, to the point that it really just got ridiculous," Rogen told us later.

The crew again regrouped, signing Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz to play the villain, alongside Jay Chou as Kato and Cameron Diaz as Reid's assistant. Production began in fall '09.

"I tried to be very precise," Gondry told MTV News during the South by Southwest Film Festival last March. "I tried to redefine fights in my own style."

Seriously, Though, Change Again!
By spring of last year, things were getting ridiculous. Sony had decided to convert the film to 3-D and yet again pushed back the release date: January 14, 2011, it would be.

No matter! The first official image popped up online in June, followed by the trailer. The footage was funny, eye-popping stuff. Hey, maybe this thing wasn't going to be so bad after all? The second trailer, which dropped in November, backed up that initial impression. And when audiences started to check out early screenings of the film, it turned out they actually liked the movie, that it neatly balanced comedy and action, that it wasn't, as so many Web-based bloviators suggested, the worst movie in the history of the world.

"It is nice that people actually have to base their assumptions on the movie now and not just what they think the movie is going to be like," Rogen laughed.

Check out everything we've got on "The Green Hornet."

Beyoncé never really seems to slow down, so when the time came to choose a director for her concert special DVD "I Am ... World Tour," the singer decided to take on those duties too. It's an accomplishment the singer jokes may have sparked those pregnancy rumors.

"I was pregnant with this DVD, yes!" she joked to MTV News.

The DVD hits stores on November 30, but fans can catch the 90-minute "I Am ... World Tour" TV special when it airs on ABC Thanksgiving night at 9:30 p.m. ET. Beyoncé opened up about what it was like to sit in the director's chair.

"Well, I've done some co-directing for music videos [but] this was definitely a big step for me, and I'm so thrilled," she said at the New York City screening for the flick.

Beyoncé said she was completely hands-on, deciding which moments made the final cut and which ones wound up on the cutting-room floor. "It was hard work," she said. "I learned so much. I have a new respect for directors and I think I would like to do more of it."

Her parents, Mathew and Tina Knowles, who also attended the screening over the weekend, said the film gives B the recognition she deserves after years of collaborating on many of her own videos.

"I'm really excited about this because Beyoncé has been making little short films and really helping to direct her videos," Tina told us. "So it's nice that she'll get credit for doing something that she really loves doing and that she's very talented at."

Dad Mathew recalled all of the effort his superstar daughter put into the special. "I'm so proud," he said. "I had an opportunity [to see the film], I've been to Houston with a screening; I've been to Bentonville, [Arkansas], with a screening, and to see the excitement from the audience, what an incredible job Beyoncé did as a director in the editing, I'm just so proud. Hopefully, all the fans go out and get the DVD and soundtrack and look at that ABC special coming on Thanksgiving."

Justin Bieber Guest Editing Vanity Fair's Facebook Page

'I'm proud of my interview and cover,' the pop singer writes online of his cover story in the magazine's latest issue.

Not only is Justin Bieber the subject of a coveted cover story in Vanity Fair's latest issue, the teenage pop superstar has been tapped to guest edit the magazine's Facebook page.

"This week, the Vanity Fair Facebook page gets its first-ever guest editor: Justin Bieber!" the magazine announced on the website on Monday (January 10). "Check back later today for exclusive content, video, and giveaways ..."

For his first post on the site (the only one the pop star had contributed as of press time), Bieber gave fans a quick synopsis of what he'll be up to this week. "Pretty cool that I get to host the Vanity Fair Facebook page this week. I'm proud of my interview and cover — it was the most intense interview I've ever done," he shared. "Gonna be a fun week — make sure you make some comments because I will send one random fan who writes in the comments section a signed copy of my book. LEGGOOOO!"

Michael Hogan, executive online editor, talked about Bieber's guest-editor gig in a statement to MTV News: "The genius of Facebook is the way it enables people to talk to each other in a whole new way, and Vanity Fair is uniquely positioned to give our fans a whole new way of interacting with the world's most fascinating people. With 18 million Facebook fans, 6 million Twitter followers, and more than 1 billion YouTube views, Justin Bieber is the quintessential modern celebrity phenomenon, and we're thrilled to have him as the first (of many, we hope) guest editor of Vanity Fair's Facebook page."

It's not the first time that the young singer has claimed a website for his own. Last April, as a prank, Bieber took over Funny or Die, renaming the site "Funny or Bieber." During his 24-hour reign over the site, he posted videos mocking his pop star status. "Justin Bieber has decided to buy Bieber or Die," a message on the website read. "And do with it whatever his tiny little heart desires."

Will you be following Vanity Fair's Facebook page while Bieber serves as guest editor? Tell us in the comments.

Quentin Tarantino will receive the inaugural Critics' Choice Music+Film Award at the Critic's Choice Movie Awards, which VH1 will air live from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Friday at 9 p.m. ET.

According to a press release, the award "was created to honor a single filmmaker who has not only inspired moviegoers with his cinematic storytelling, but has heightened the impact of film through the brilliant use of source and soundtrack music."

Maroon 5, who will serve as the night's house band, also will perform a musical tribute to the filmmaker as scenes from his iconic films play. "Throughout his career, [Tarantino] has truly harnessed the power of a single song and created unforgettable, heart-breaking, exhilarating and always dynamic moments that remain in the minds of his audience," the release continues. Tarantino's classic flicks include "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction," "Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2" and "Inglourious Basterds."

As part of a campaign to promote this year's Critics' Choice Movie Awards, the guys from "Jackass" filmed parodies of "The Social Network" and some of the event's other Best Picture nominees. "We're spoofing four movies. We've never done anything like this before," Johnny Knoxville explained. "So God knows how they're going to turn out. I play Mark Zuckerberg; Wee-Man and Preston play the Winklevoss twins."

The other movies in the Best Picture category are "127 Hours," "Black Swan," "The Fighter," "Inception," "The King's Speech," "The Town," "Toy Story 3," "True Grit" and "Winter's Bone."

Tune in to the Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Friday, January 14, airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT on VH1.

We're sure there are people in the world who don't like the new Britney Spears song, "Hold It Against Me," but judging by the comments on several articles MTV News posted about the track on Monday, most fans are enthralled with Spears' latest opus about love on the dance floor.

"Britney, you are amazing as always. I'm glad that you are back," commenter Juliana Alves shared. "Loved the new song."

"She is definitely back! Her single is hot!" Ry commented. "The beat is sick! U rock, Brit!"

Rus7 pointed out that at first he didn't love "Hold It Against Me," but then it grew on him. "The first seconds I listened to the song, I was kinda disappointed 'cause it was the same as the demo, but then the second and the third chorus, including the break, just made me change my idea. I love the final beats!" he wrote. "This song is just to be in the club. ... Haha, definitely 5 stars!"

Weighing in on the epic Gaga vs. Britney battle of 2011, Adham noted that this song definitely is a tune to give Gaga a run for her money. "Omgg you guys are right, even though I still don't think it's good enough to beat Gaga, but wowwwwwwww!!! It's definitely competition :P I LOVE IT!!"

LOX added, "Queen Britney! It's just the beat, her sexy and catchy voice. ... No one is like Britney. Maybe Gaga is more talented, but I'm sorry like every country ... music only has one queen: BRITNEY!! You're back, and it's Britney B*tch!!"

Ccrazy4brit became automatically obsessed with the club number. "OMG BRIT IS BACK!!!" Ccrazy4brit commented. "I thought it was amazing, can't stop listening to it. My boyfriend got mad and walked out of our bedroom 'cause of me over-playing it!!!"

Nearperfection kept it simple, just saying, "I LOVE IT!!!! WELCOME BACK, BRITNEY!!!"

What do you think of Britney's single? Keep talking about it in the comments below!

David And Victoria Beckham Expecting

Superstars David and Victoria Beckham are expanding their brood. The soccer phenomenon and his fashionista wife have revealed that Victoria is pregnant.

"David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer," their rep told People on Sunday (January 9). The rep added that the couple's three children "Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister."

Although the British duo are already parents to three growing sons, the former Spice Girl admitted in 2010 that she and Becks would be open to adding another little one to the mix.

"I think one day, if we're blessed to have more children, it would be amazing," Victoria told People. "It's a lot having three boys. So, we're just enjoying the boys at the moment. But who knows, one day?"

The pair got hitched in 1999 in the U.K. and it appears their high-profile marriage is still going strong over ten years later. Victoria, who has since followed up her time as a chart-topping member of the Spice Girls with an increasingly successful career as a fashion designer, gushed about her athlete hubby in the November 2010 issue of Marie Claire.

"We were about to go out somewhere the other day, and he was sending an email. He was sitting at the end of the bed, and he had no clothes on whatsoever. I was getting out of the shower, and I just stood there looking at him. He was all tan. Has all those tattoos — which I love. Hadn't done his hair. He just naturally looks good all the time. He never looks like sh-- in the morning. Never," she said. "So he's sitting there sending his emails, all ripped. Not an ounce of fat on him."

Share your congratulations for the family in the comments!

Are Kanye And Jay-Z Delivering Watch The Throne Too Soon?

Critics weigh in on whether 'Ye risks fans gorging on product while they're still feasting on acclaimed Dark Twisted Fantasy.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Kanye West
Photo: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/ WireImage

Kanye West should be basking in the critical acclaim of his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. He scored a number of year-end accolades for the project, including recognition from us here at MTV News.

But a mere two months after the LP's November release, the rapper's already in promotional mode for his next project, Watch the Throne, a joint effort with Jay-Z.

How did everything happen so fast?

Jay-Z, of course, has been a prolific MC, having released six consecutive #1 albums, from 1998's Vol. 2 ... Hard Knock Life to 2003's The Black Album. And after a self-imposed exile, Kanye has proved to be just as productive as his mentor, including West's three-month-long G.O.O.D. Fridays series, during which he released a new single each week.

Back in October, during a lengthy sit-down, West casually told MTV News' Sway that the Watch the Throne EP had evolved into a full-length album.

"We putting out a whole album now," he said. "We had done five [songs] so far, but then a few of them kind of were out there, and I put them on my album. Sorry, Jay. But we got some more, and we're going to the South of France at the end of the month to just record new ideas. But we'll probably be done with the album in a day."

According to 'Ye, Jay-Z only has to write 10 verses (a hint?: the album will only be 10 songs), and West is collaborating with a bevy of producers, so his load will be substantially reduced as well.

Another question, however, is whether fans will flock to the project so soon after snapping up West's extravagant solo release.

The early answer seems to be a resounding yes.

"I think it's smart because I imagine the two albums will be very different sonically, so it won't be a case where one overshadows the other," Complex senior editor Toshitaka Kondo told MTV News. "Also, when an artist is hot, their fans can't get enough as long as the output is good. Young Money has had five or six different releases, including the Young Money album and projects from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake in the last 13 months, and I can't see how it's hurt any of them. I can't see the sales of this album necessarily cannibalizing the sales from Kanye's [last album] anyway. It'd be one thing if they were dropping within a few weeks of each other, but given how fast people consume music these days, six months is plenty of time."

Perhaps, though, instead of debating whether it's too soon to put out the album, the more poignant thing to consider is this: arguably the two biggest stars in hip-hop want to make an album together!

"All artists need to find a way to combat falling record sales and meet fans' desire for constant gratification — a new album from two of hip-hop's biggest stars isn't going to hurt,"the Amplifier's Caryn Ganz said.

"It could even renew interest in Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and encourage people to revisit it," she said. "All the recent collaborations between these two have been very strong, like 'Run This Town' and 'Monster,' and Kanye seems to bring out a fascinating artiness in Jay. They just have to be careful that they don't push it too far in an artsy, esoteric direction and lose their whole street base. But the timing doesn't seem strange to me at all — strike while Kanye's still making headlines for the right reasons, rather than wrong."

Do you think it's too soon for Kanye and Jay to drop their Watch the Throne? Tell us in the comments!

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Gets His Day In Court

Jackson's choreographer Kenny Ortega is expected to testify at the preliminary hearing in Los Angeles.

More than a year and a half after the shocking death of Michael Jackson, the only person charged in the singer's death, his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, will finally get his day in court.

Murray, who has been charged with one felony count of involuntary manslaughter, will be in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday (January 4) for the first day of a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to hold a full trial. The hearing, in front of Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, is expected to last two weeks and feature testimony from more than two dozen witnesses, most of whom are medical experts.

Prosecutors will attempt to show that Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter charge, was responsible for the singer's death from an overdose of prescription drugs on June 25, 2009. Murray's lawyers have said the doctor did inject the 50-year-old pop icon with the powerful surgical anesthetic propofol in an attempt to combat Jackson's chronic insomnia, but that the dose "should have" not been enough to kill him.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that one of the star witnesses during the preliminary hearing will be Jackson's "This is It" choreographer Kenny Ortega. Citing an unnamed source, TMZ said that Ortega is expected to testify that the week before Jackson died, the singer complained that he felt cold, had the shakes and could not perform, which resulted in a canceled rehearsal.

On the next day, June 20, 2009, an emergency meeting was reportedly called at Jackson's rented Los Angeles mansion between the pop star, Ortega, several executives from concert promotion giant AEG Live and Murray. The meeting was described as "intense, loud and argumentative" and Ortega is said to have laid into Jackson, imploring the singer to take better care of himself in the lead-up to what was intended to be his live swan song.

According to TMZ, Ortega is expected to testify that Murray said some "terrible things" during the meeting and displayed a lack of concern and respect for his patient, comments that could be "damaging" to Murray.

Last week, one of the prosecutors in the case claimed that Murray's lawyers were planning to claim that Jackson killed himself when he self-administered a lethal dose of propofol after waking up in a panic from a bout of fitful sleep.

Ortega is also reportedly set to testify that in the two days before his death, Jackson was a changed man, impressing his backup dancers with his upbeat singing and dancing. The testimony could be key to the prosecutors' case, since it could paint a portrait of Jackson as being healthy and energetic before Murray administered the cocktail of sedatives and propofol that allegedly resulted in the singer's death.

Rose interviewed the rapper on Thursday before an audience at the Brooklyn Museum for a future episode of his PBS program, and the pair touched on much more than music.

With Beyoncé, his mother and other family members seated in the front row, Jay-Z held court on an array of topics, including Tupac Shakur, his arrest for stabbing a record executive and his drug-dealing past.

"Did you ever do the drugs?" Rose asked the Roc Nation boss.

"Crack cocaine," Jay responded, drawing laughs from the audience. "C'mon, man. That's hard-core, man. Maybe a little weed. A Ballantine Ale. Or a Guinness Stout."

"Decoded," Jay-Z's first book, is part memoir and part deconstruction of his lyrics, which have helped to garner more #1 albums than any solo artist in history.

Sporting a gray blazer, black v-neck sweater, dark denim jeans and designer kicks, Jay-Z was casual and charismatic throughout the evening.

When Rose mispronounced Tupac's name, the rapper humorously chided the talk-show host.

"If it was Tupac," Jay said, pronouncing it "two-pack" and pausing to let the laughter build up, "it would be spelled with a 'k' and not a 'c' at the end. You're not the first to say it wrong, but hopefully, after tonight, you'll be the last." The veteran journalist redeemed himself when he leaned over to give Jay-Z a fist pound, signifying that he had learned his lesson.

Rose probed further into the "Run This Town" star's life, at one point asking about his arrest in the stabbing of former Biggie confidant Lance "Un" Rivera.

"He was stabbed, but he went home without taking an aspirin," Jay responded, defusing the headlines of the past. "He was fine. Don't feel bad for him."

As the conversation neared its end, Rose brought up the guarded rapper's marriage to singer Beyoncé. He pointed to a clip of the two from the video for "O3 Bonnie and Clyde," but Jay chimed in before Rose could ask his question.

"I don't know how I let her wear that Boston hat," Jay-Z said. "She took the B a little too far. That's what I thought of.

"How did I get out of that," he joked, after Rose was flustered and forgot his question.

As of press time, the broadcast date for the episode of "Charlie Rose" featuring Jay-Z had not been announced.

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Hid Evidence, Guard Testifies

Testimony has Conrad Murray removing IV stand and two bags of medication.

The second day of testimony in the preliminary hearing of Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, featured damning testimony from one of the late King of Pop's bodyguards about Murray's actions in the critical minutes after the singer was found unresponsive.

After a former Jackson staffer testified Tuesday that Murray appeared to not know how to perform CPR properly, security guard Alberto Alvarez said on Wednesday (January 5) that the cardiologist frantically grabbed medical evidence from the star's bedroom before instructing Alvarez to call 911.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Alvarez said he was the first person to walk into Jackson's bedroom after Murray realized his patient was not breathing, where he found the cardiologist administering chest compressions with one hand while Jackson lay on his bed, which goes against the recommended procedure for the life-saving method.

"I said, 'Dr. Murray, what happened?' " Alvarez told the court. " 'He had a bad reaction, he had a bad reaction,' that's all he said." Alvarez choked up as he described how Jackson's daughter, Paris, followed him into the room and screamed when she saw her father sprawled out and unresponsive on the bed.

He said Murray then instructed him to get the children out of the room, noticing as he left that Jackson's penis was out of his underwear and that medical tubing was attached to it. When Deputy District Attorney David Walgren asked Alvarez if he knew what a condom catheter was, the security guard said he did not.

Alvarez said he then witnessed Murray grabbing a handful of bottles, which he instructed the security guard to put in a bag. He told the court that he held open the bag as the doctor dropped the bottles of medicine inside and then put it in a brown canvas bag on the floor, per Murray's instructions. Murray also allegedly told Alvarez to grab one of the two bags hanging on an IV stand next to Jackson's bed and put it in another bag. Alvarez said he noticed a "milk-like substance" in the bottom of the IV bag.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office determined that Jackson died of an acute intoxication of propofol, a powerful surgical anesthetic sometimes referred to as "milk of amnesia" thanks to its milky white appearance. Only after the medical materials had been put away did Murray tell Alvarez to call 911.

"After you had collected the bottles per Dr. Murray's instructions, and after you had collected the bags per Dr. Murray's instructions, did Dr. Murray instruct you to call 911?" Walgren asked. "Yes, sir," Alvarez responded.

TMZ reported that during cross-examination, defense attorney Ed Chernoff got Alvarez to admit that he never told police about Murray ordering him to remove the bottles and Alvarez later admitted that he may try to sell his story.

Later in the day, EMT Richard Senniff testified that he arrived at the Jackson home, just four minutes after the 911 call was placed. According to TMZ, Senniff said that, based on the condition of Jackson's body, it appeared that Murray waited at least 20 minutes to call 911. Senniff also stated that when he asked Murray what meds Jackson had been administered, he only listed lorazepam (Ativan).

Jackson cook Kai Chase also testified, revealing the food she prepared for Jackson prior to his death (seared ahi tuna and salad, white bean Tuscan soup) and that she knew something was wrong when Murray came downstairs in a panic and summoned Jackson's son, Prince.

The preliminary hearing is aimed at determining whether there is enough evidence to try Murray on a felony count of involuntary manslaughter in the June 2009 death of the King of Pop. It is expected to last two to three weeks.

'Twilight' Trio Take Over People's Choice Awards

Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart fly in from 'Breaking Dawn' set for awards show.

It wasn't until an hour and a half into Wednesday night's (January 5) People's Choice Awards that the beloved "Twilight Saga" trio — Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner — finally made their appearance at the awards show, which meant fans unfortunately never got to find out whether Stewart would walk down the sapphire carpet with Pattinson, her rumored beau. But while the show began with a shutout for the "Twilight" stars, they ended up winning some of the biggest awards of the night, just as they did in 2010.

Johnny Depp won Favorite Male Movie Star for the fifth time in a row, beating both Lautner and Pattinson for the honor. Still sporting his "The Tourist" haircut, the favorite actor thanked his fans for the "stupefying honor" because it "comes from the people who keep us all here."

Zac Efron also bested both Stewart and Pattinson (and his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens) as Favorite Movie Star Under 25, another surprising shutout. "What an honor it is to be nominated among my contemporaries," Efron acknowledged, and thanked the connection he has with fans for keeping him around.

But where were the "Twilight Saga" fans, infamous for their skills that allow "Twilight" to continuously sweep fan-voted awards shows?

Turns out they were focusing their attention on getting Stewart the win for Favorite Movie Actress. The big three finally made their appearance more than three-quarters of the way into the show when Stewart accepted her big award. (By the way, it was Lautner — not Pattinson — who walked her to the stage.)

It was Stewart's first time at the People's Choice Awards, and in true KStew style, it was clear the "Twilight Saga" star was uncomfortable onstage. But she was sure to thank her fans, giving them a bit of a tease from the set of "Breaking Dawn."

"We're shooting 'Breaking Dawn' right now. It's going really well; it's really fun," she said during her acceptance speech. Spoiler alert! "I was a vampire this morning in Baton Rouge, so it's really weird."

Since it took the trio so long to show up to the awards show, host Queen Latifah wasn't going to let them off the hook so easily. They were seated front and center, and Latifah put them on the spot with a list of "questions" directed at their characters. Example: If a wolf ate a vampire, but the vampire wasn't dead, could the vampire eat the werewolf from the inside out? The awkward smile on Lautner's face was all the answer we needed. But the awkwardness was all worth it when Latifah mistook Pattinson's description of the "posh" airplane that they flew on from Baton Rouge for "plush." Oh, those silly Brits!

And "The Twilight Saga" ended the show with a bang, winning Favorite Movie, Favorite Drama Movie and Favorite Onscreen Team, presented by Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman. Pattinson beat Lautner and Stewart to the microphone, and Lautner threw some faux punches at his onscreen enemy. "Taylor wanted to go first, but I wanted him to go last," Pattinson joked, then let Lautner proceed.

"I can't believe this! You guys are unreal," Lautner gushed. "It still amazes me. For movie number three, 'Eclipse,' already, you guys have gotten us here today, but you guys have also given us the opportunity to, as Kristen said, be filming 'Breaking Dawn.'

"I can't wait for you guys to see it," he continued. "Mark my words: The best is yet to come."

Stewart took the stage after him, adding to her previous acceptance speech, "I just want to thank our producer Wyck [Godfrey]. Dude, thank you so much, and everybody at Summit of course. And the fans."

Last but not least, Pattinson took to the mic amid deafening screams from the crowd. He said he couldn't hear what either of his co-stars said in their speeches, but "can guarantee they both wrote speeches."

His spur-of-the-moment speech was short and sweet, saying, "Thank you so much for the fun, People's Choice. Thank you so much for everything. It's been a wonderful experience."

Beyonce Laughs Off Heat Commercial Controversy

'It upped my sales,' she tells 'The View' after her perfume ad was banned in the U.K.
By Jocelyn Vena

Beyoncé caused a bit of controversy last week with her red-hot commercial for her latest fragrance, Heat. The ad was banned from daytime rotation in the U.K. thanks to its steamy images of Beyoncé. When the singer and her mom, Tina Knowles, stopped by "The View" on Monday (November 22), she seemed happy about the outcome.

"I think it was very good, because a lot of people went and watched the commercial," she said. "And it upped my sales."

Beyoncé not only had a good-natured laugh about the response to her ad, but she also poked fun at her ever-present wind machine, explaining why she seems to always have one on hand during her performances. "Where's the wind coming from? It started out only [to stay cool], and then it kind of created this effect with my hair," she explained. "You can only imagine, the show is two and a half hours. It's really, really warm onstage."

While B didn't dish about life with her hubby, Jay-Z, she did reveal that she's a bit messy at home, despite being so together when she hits the red carpet. "Well, I think because I work really hard," she said. "When I'm home, I don't want to think about it."

Beyoncé seemed a bit more comfortable when it came to giving a shout-out to Jay-Z for making an appearance on her concert special, "I Am ... World Tour," which premieres on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. She recounted how Hova surprised the audience by joining her onstage in Rio de Janeiro. "We talked about it; we knew he was in town," she said. "Kanye, as well. He was in town that night."

Bon Jovi, AC/DC, U2 Top World Tours Of 2010

Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour placed fourth on the list.

Bon Jovi showed all the newbies how it's done. The veteran rock group had the most successful tour in 2010. And, following closely behind at #2 and #3 are fellow veteran acts AC/DC and U2, concert tracker Pollstar reports.

The New Jersey act sold an impressive $201.1 million worth of tickets worldwide this year in a concert economy that was on the downslide. Around the world, ticket sales for the top 50 tours dropped 12 percent to $2.93 billion, and in North America, they dropped 15 percent to $1.69 billion.

Bon Jovi beat out 2009's top two acts, bumping AC/DC, who grossed $177 million in ticket sales, to #2, and U2, with $160.9 million (impressive, considering they had to postpone their North American leg to 2011 due to Bono's back surgery), to #3 on the list. But hot on the heels of the aging rockers is Lady Gaga, the only woman in the top 10 tours for 2010.

Gaga and her Monster Ball tour placed fourth on the list. According to the report, Gaga's over-the-top spectacle grossed $133.6 million over the course of 138 shows, most of which took place outside of North America. Gaga may have only placed fourth, but she played more shows than the top three: Bon Jovi played only 80 shows, AC/DC played 40 and U2 played 32 shows.

The rest of the top 10 is rounded out by Metallica at #5 (netting $110.1 million), pop crooner Michael Bublé was # 6 with $104.2 million; the live show "Walking With Dinosaurs" placed #7 with $104.1 million; Paul McCartney is #8 with $93 million; the Eagles are #9 with $92.3 million and Roger Waters is #10 with $89.5 million.

In North America alone, Bon Jovi kept their title as the top draw, followed by Roger Waters, Dave Matthews Band, Bublé and the Eagles.

What was your favorite concert of the year? Talk about it in the comments.

Britney Spears Vs. Lady Gaga: Which Diva Will Rule 2011?

Gaga's Born This Way and Spears' new album both coming early in year.
By Jocelyn Vena

Lady Gaga and Britney Spears

In 2010, Lady Gaga battled Taylor Swift for female pop domination, but in 2011, Gaga is going up against none other than career pop star Britney Spears. It should be a truly epic battle of the blondes, and it's made even more interesting because the two not only share sonic similarities, but also have very similar fanbases of loyal devotees waiting to hear new notes from the chart-topping lasses.

In 2008, both Gaga and Spears released new music (Gaga with The Fame and Britney with Circus), and the ladies each released compilation albums in 2009 (Gaga's The Fame Monster and Britney's second greatest-hits collection, The Singles Collection), but never have their releases really come face to face as they will this year.

Gaga is set to release her single in February, with her full album, Born This Way, to follow sometime after. Meanwhile, Britney will have her first single out very early in 2011, with the album set for release in March.

So, which bombshell will rise to the top of the heap? MTV News asked music critics to weigh in.

"I think the thing about Gaga is: Her persona is really experimental, but her music isn't, and I think she's gonna have to really come out with some different stuff to make it more interesting," writer Julianne Escobedo-Shepherd proposed. "I think her fanbase is so solid that she'll be fine no matter what she does."

New York Times writer Jon Caramanica noted that no one can guess what Gaga has up her sleeve for her next album, but it will be interesting.

"I see Gaga changing every six months," he said. "I think she's trying new ideas. Maybe they're not all hits or they're not all successful, but I think she's trying new things, so if you look at how Gaga's going to evolve, I don't think we can say where Gaga's gonna land," he explained, "but I think we can say reliably it's going to be really interesting."

How does a vet like Britney compete with a newbie? Escobedo-Shepherd explained that Spears is actually in a great place to do it.

"She's got a blank slate right now," she said. "People don't know what to expect from her. I think the fact that maybe she's being more experimental shows that she feels freer a little bit, and I think it's going to show in the music," she predicted. "In the music sphere, I think that Britney's gonna win, but Gaga's so on top you can't top her, even if you're Britney."

RapRadar.com's Elliot Wilson noted that right now, "It's Gaga's game to lose," and Complex's Noah Callahan said Spears' vet status could work in her favor.

"The thing with Britney Spears that makes it work for her is that she's been around for so long that people are invested in her narrative, and even when the records are so-so, they still have the desire to see her succeed as an individual," he said. "I don't really know what to expect from Lady Gaga in 2011. I do know that she will definitely throw us a curveball and do something that is unexpected."

Do you expect Gaga or Britney to rule 2011? Give us your prediction in the comments below!

Anne Francis Passes Away

On a day that already saw us bid farewell to Pete Postlethwaite, the acting community is also mourning the loss of Anne Francis. The actress died at age 80.

The sweet-voiced blonde was perhaps best known as a sexy Jane Bond-type on TV's Honey West in the mid-'60s and in the '50s sci-fi hit Forbidden Planet.

Never a big-name star but always a cult favorite, she passed away of complications of pancreatic cancer at a retirement home in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Here's a look at Anne in Honey West, which ran on ABC ...
